Summary: The Tyrannosaurus Rex is an unquestionably awesome animal. But what if it could not only terrorize the land, but also the sea? Amphibious dinosaurs aren't unlikely, but one like this certainly is. But since when did realism factor into any of these movies?

History: Somewhere off the coast of Belize, an explosion and a search for Mayan gold in the Great Blue Hole awakens something old from the sea floor. It is an aquatic tyrannosaur, and it's already got babies. If left to their own devices, these creatures could easily overrun the mainland, and tear countless people apart. Of course, as if they haven't already with the locals on the water...

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Poseidon Rex's kids are killed after a couple hatch, and the beast is confronted in the ocean again. This time, someone manages to fire a rocket launcher at it, blowing its head off. However, a clutch of eggs still survived, and one just hatched...

Powers/Abilities: Can breathe in land and water.

Weakness: Heavy artillery. The young are weaker and smaller.

Scariness Factor: 3-Poseidon Rex's inventive design, major adaptability, and imposing size would make for a perfectly frightening sea monster, especially when its equally hungry young make landfall first. But then of course, terrible CGI sets the poor dinosaur back a number of steps. Its kids get the worst of it though. You try and tell us anything looks real here.

Trivia: -As of this writing, the only dinosaur that's most assured to have an aquatic lifestyle primarily is Spinosaurus aegyptiacus. As many know, this animal has been the subject of debate for almost a century, with people pinballing back and forth between whether it was some kind of super apex predator bigger than T-Rex (it was technically bigger) or if it was restricted to hanging out near bodies of water to eat fish. The debate was seemingly settled when in 2020, it was discovered that it had an eel-like tail, a surefire sign that it preferred the water to anywhere else.

-The Great Blue Hole is a massive sinkhole in the sea near Belize. It was formed millions of years ago due to a cave flooding when the sea levels rose up. It has since become a popular scuba-diving location, bereft of any sea monsters...we think, at least.
